Tara is a Mi'kmaq artist from Elsipogtog First Nation, specializing in porcupine quillwork as well as silk and acrylic painting. She sees herself as a contemporary artist, influenced by traditional techniques and teachings, presenting them in new forms and forums addressing Indigenous voice in a modern world. She considers her work to be part of her personal spiritual journey, a blessing to the Wabanaki people, honoring the symbols and traditions of her ancestors and passing them on to the next generation.
